Thanks for stopping by! I'm Tom Peschges, a singer songwriter based in Red Wing, MN. I perform solo and with The Double Down Daredevils, a Bluegrass/Americana band I started eight years ago with Nathan Fjeld.
As a songwriter I would describe my style as a storyteller, hopefully in the tradition of some of my songwriting influences such as Guy Clark, Verlon Thompson, Shawn Camp and others. Of course, John Denver is another significant influence in my writing. I tend to incorporate humor in many of my songs, but I think that each song should have some fundamental truth behind it. The story itself may or may not be true word for word, but there should be a message that transcends the story itself. That is what I strive for in my songs.
Not long ago someone came up to me after a show and said that I was "Authentic." That is the highest compliment to which I can aspire.
